./from_specialist_to_leader --english
You were good at the craft. Now you have to be good at people.
If you work in Sønderborg and moved into managing a team after years as an engineer or specialist, this is an entry point to sessions with a psychologist who knows that transition from the inside, in English.
About the sender: this site describes online conversations with the psychologist Frank. The sessions are offered by djursland-psykologen.dk.

The clinic is in Mørke on Djursland, a long way from Sønderborg, so online is the main route here. It works as well from a living room in Dybbøl as from a home office in Nordborg.
What you can focus on
People are not functions
A problem in a system can be isolated, tested and fixed. A problem between two colleagues cannot, and discovering that can be tiring.
Doubting that you belong
You used to be the one with the answer. Now you are the one who has to ask the right questions, and it can feel like starting over.
The craft still pulls
It is easier to solve the task yourself than to hand it on. Then you sit in a meeting with your head in a solution while the team waits.
Leading versus managing
More procedures and more status meetings can bring calm for a week and unrest for half a year.
Typical clients are technical managers, founders, busy professionals and international profiles. You do not need a clear problem to begin.
About Frank
Frank is an authorised psychologist (autoriseret psykolog), qualified at Aarhus University in 2005 and authorised in 2011. His authorisation ID is 0H2Y3, and you can check it in the Danish Authorisation Register. He has worked as a crisis psychologist and professional lead, and has been CEO of a venture-funded high-tech start-up, with international sales and scaling. He carried responsibility for strategy, finances and staff, and has held responsibility in both the public and the private sector.
His approach is integrative and humanistic, drawing on relational, narrative and existential perspectives as well as cognitive behavioural therapy. Everything you say is covered by the psychologist's duty of confidentiality.
FAQ
What if I cannot describe what is wrong?
That is fine. You do not need a finished explanation or a clear problem statement. When you join the waiting list you are asked to say briefly what you are looking for, and you can start with whatever is taking up space, even if it is just an irritation with no name.
Does my GP find out?
No. Your GP is not informed, and neither are the municipality, your partner or spouse, or your employer. The sessions are private, need no referral, and are covered by the psychologist's duty of confidentiality under Danish law.
Can my company pay?
Yes. Many people have the invoice paid by their company or employer, and you can of course pay yourself. The practical page on the main site (in Danish) has the details.
Do I have to say who I work for?
No. You do not need to give your employer's name when you sign up.

There is a waiting list, and these sessions are not emergency help. If you need help urgently, contact your GP, the out-of-hours medical service (lægevagten) or call 112.
